Legal Assistant

We are a general practice law firm looking for a legal secretary to work with our attorneys.
Potential candidates must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and must work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate would also possess mid to high level computer skills, superior communication and written skills, and be highly organized and detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
- Draft pleadings, and undertake case filing, including e-filing
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, and appointments
- Regularly update case statuses to clients by e-mail, telephone, and in-person conferences
- Record and store client information
- Preparation of pleadings and correspondence
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year previous experience as a legal secretary
- Requires knowledge of Michigan No Fault law along with familiarity with personal injury
- Must have knowledge of family law
