About You

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) – Addiction Counselor with experience working in a treatment environment supporting individuals diagnosed with a chronic mental illness (ex: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD). As a Rehab Specialist, you will be part of an amazing team of Behavioral Health Service Providers, Nurses, Therapists and Psychiatrists providing the highest level of outpatient treatment to this underserved population. To get started you will need:

  • Full Vaccination against COVID-19 – CA required
  • At least 8 years of behavioral health experience—combination of education and experience – required
  • CADC -I certified - required

Your Responsibilities

Your role as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) – Addiction Counselor is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist clients retain, practice and learn new skills that will help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and stabilize housing. The goal is to see clients through their individual recovery process and to celebrate graduations from treatment back to home counties, families, and friends. As a MHRS you will be:

  • Provide evidence based-addiction treatment services and curriculum
  • Provide 2-3 substance use disorder groups per week.
  • Work with the most complex cases requiring individual and group services from a certified professional.
  • Providing at least 20 hours per week of face-to-face time of allowable services to clients
  • Providing individual and group rehabilitation services
  • Providing case management
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Providing crisis intervention services
  • Facilitating groups including Equine, DBT, CBT, DRA, Grief and Loss
  • Helping clients develop healthy connections and activities.
  • Linking clients to outside community resources including ID, benefits, outpatient appointments, vetted support groups (example AA/NA/DRA)
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Helping clients safely access the community
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

Perform a wide range of human resources functions. Duties include recruiting, hiring and training new and existing employees. The HR Assistant will assist in helping plan programs and processes designed to improve employee welfare. Maintain vital employee records and ensure the smooth operation of the HR department.

• Support internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department
• Compile and maintain paper, digital and electronic employee records
• Assist in HR-related training programs, workshops, and seminars
• Enter employee data into computer database
• Coordinate new hire orientations
• Oversee HR events and meetings and coordinating management-employee communications
• Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
• Other duties as assigned 

Education and Experience:

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to follow directions and work within a program structure.

Language Ability:

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and emergency situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; inventory software; internet software; order processing systems; and database software.
