Job Overview

We are currently looking for a shop welder/ fabricator to join our Fargo Branch; this person will assist with door and hardware installs and repairs for our customers in the Fargo area. As well as prep & fabricate metal / wood doors for customer orders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prep, fabricate and weld steel doors and frames
  • Prep and fabricate stock wood slabs for customer orders
  • Assist with maintaining shop inventory levels
  • Review assigned work orders and pick needed parts from TCH warehouse
  • Work independently on customer installs and/or repairs, troubleshoot issues
  • Coordinate/communicate with customers & Sales group on new or existing work orders regarding completion and issues
  • Check in and present overview of work with customers on site
  • Accurately fill out work log daily
  • May involve travel to customer sites driving a company vehicle

Skills Requirements

  • Mig welding, 110 and 220V experience, preferred but not required
  • Basic metal fabrication skills
  • Strong knowledge of doors, frames and associated hardware, preferred
  • Ability to analyze project scope and plan necessary steps/ timeline
  • Courteous communication skills with all levels of the company and customers
  • Advanced experience with hand tools (hammer drill, power drill, measuring tools, circular saw, etc)
  • Basic knowledge of industry terminology and nomenclature, preferred
  • Self-motivated and able to perform duties independently and complete projects timely
  • Availability for periodic overnight travel during the week, if needed
  • Experience with computer software in a Windows/ Google based environment, preferred but not required
  • Favorable results from a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Favorable results from a Motor Vehicle Record check

Working Conditions

Majority of the work day is spent standing. Manufacturing/warehouse environment with constant exposure to machine noise and wood dust; periodic exposure to wood glue. Includes; ladder climbing, push/pull, reaching overhead, bending, and squatting. Lift 10-50lbs regularly, and 100lbs+, occasionally.
