Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOVERVIEW:

Warehouse Support – Level 1 will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in planning, safety, quality, organizing, and controlling the warehouse’s over-all operations, as well as inventory control – receipt, storage, and shipping – and ensure the timely and quality delivery of products to customer specifications and satisfaction.

PRIORITIZED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Major Responsibilities
•\tTakes pride in and maintains an orderly and clean environment and facility
•\tFollows and maintains the Warehouse Manager’s plans and schedules
•\tFollows and maintains all applicable quality and safety standards and procedures to the highest degree of attention, accuracy, and care
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager in maintaining customer service by ensuring on-time correct shipment of orders to the exact customer specifications
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager to ensure that every shipment received by company meets the exact order specifications
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager in maintaining and managing inventory control systems
•\tSafely and efficiently operate a band saw
•\tSafely and efficiently operate a forklift
•\tSafely and efficiently operate overhead and jib crane
•\tSafely and efficiently operate other mechanical and pneumatic tools
•\tUse a digital scale, micrometer, caliper, and tape measure
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager in receiving, verifying, and processing daily job orders
•\tAssists Warehouse Manager with daily, weekly and monthly reports.
•\tAssists Warehouse Manager with fiscal and quality audits
•\tAdvises and consults Warehouse Manager about warehouse operations and develop methods to improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the same
•\tAdvises and consults Warehouse Manager about the development and implementation of additional services or processes to expand sales capability and customer service
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager in managing boxing and packaging operations to ensure each box and package maintains a professional appearance and complies with the highest quality and safety standards
•\tAssists the Warehouse Manager with warehouse software system and inputs, including barcode scanner and printer
•\tPerform other work related tasks as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education
•\tHigh school or equivalent
•\tAdditional education is a plus

Experience
•\tMetals Service Center warehouse experience, is required
•\tISO 9001:2008 experience is a plus

Skills
•\tThose listed in the essential functions (suggestion: be specific regarding the equipment operation skills required)
•\tAcute math skills (suggestion: be specific regarding the math skills required, i.e. measurements)
•\tAble to work under pressure
•\tComputer literate – at a minimum, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Physical Requirements
•\tStanding for long periods, bending, lifting (~50 lbs.) required
•\tAble to work in an outdoor environment
