As a Tooling and MRO Replenishment Buyer, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that our tooling and MRO supplies are always at optimal levels. You will be responsible for:

  • Tooling Procurement & Inventory Management: You will manage all perishable tooling procurement and inventory, ensuring everything is in place when needed.
  • Tooling Receiving Inspection: You will inspect key characteristics and key tooling upon receiving.
  • Inventory Organization: You will handle the receiving, storing, and organization of inventory in the tool crib and vending solutions.
  • Supplier Selection & Relationship Management: You will select strategic suppliers, develop supplier scorecards, and cultivate strong vendor relationships.
  • Usage Monitoring: You will record and monitor the usage of tooling and supply items using Plex and Vending software.
  • Inventory Level Management: You will maintain optimal stocking levels and manage the entire tooling regrind process.
  • Communication & Problem Solving: You will communicate potential stocking issues and work with suppliers to find alternatives.
  • Tooling Module Management: You will accurately manage and maintain the tooling module in Plex.
  • Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy: You will conduct regular cycle counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Negotiation: You will negotiate payment terms, prices, and delivery schedules to secure favorable agreements.
  • Quoting & Improvement: You will quote new tooling for engineers and identify areas for improvement within the procurement function.
  • Data Analysis & KPI Tracking: You will analyze procurement data and track KPIs, including stock-outs, inventory turnover, and obsolete inventory levels.
  • Backup Support: You will serve as a backup for the Buyer role.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and manipulate electronic data for informed decision-making.
  • Strong sense of urgency and a "whatever it takes" mentality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate+ computer skills, including experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and other web-based platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and a focus on continual improvement.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while collaborating closely with various teams.
  • Prefer experience in purchasing, demand forecasting, production planning, or order replenishment.
