Position Overview

The Operator will be responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading materials at various work locations as needed. A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive medium to large trucks, delivering materials between company sites via private roads and public highways.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts.
  • Ensure cargo is secured for transport using ropes, blocks, or covers.
  • Gather necessary documentation before transporting materials.
  • Confirm delivery instructions from relevant sources, ensuring accuracy of routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues or required repairs.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as checking and replenishing oil, fuel, and fluids.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle maintenance in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required, along with relevant experience in the field.
  • Possess the necessary skills and knowledge for the position.
  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.

Requirements

  • The individual in this role must be able to navigate a construction or industrial site, requiring the ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions is expected.

  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as necessary.
  • Capability to use ladders, mechanical platforms, and scaffolding to access work areas, which may exceed heights of 200 feet.

  • Ability to maneuver in confined and cluttered spaces, as well as on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the work site.

  • Possession of required tools is necessary.
  • Adherence to all safety and project regulations is mandatory, along with performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Must successfully pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and meet fit-for-duty medical standards.
