Position Summary
The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. This role involves collaborating with various departments, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the finance team in maintaining the integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
- Review and verify invoices and check requests.
- Sort, code, and match invoices.
- Set invoices up for payment.
- Track expenses and process expense reports.
Payment Management:
- Prepare and perform check runs (assist in process).
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
Vendor Management:
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain vendor files.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Produce monthly reports.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Assist in streamlining accounts payable processes.
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work with other departments to obtain approvals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
