Job Summary

Research Technician to support SD R&D team.

You will play a crucial role in advancing research and development efforts by engaging hands-on work in our R&D laboratories. Your contributions will support both existing products and new product development, with a focus on improving lab operational efficiency and productivity within the Catalyst Synthesis and Testing team. Major Activities and Responsibilities

  • Consistently adhere to safety guidelines while performing tasks.
  • Engages in hands-on work in the R&D laboratories, supporting research projects execution and other business-related assignments under supervision.
  • Operates laboratory equipment proficiently for catalyst synthesis and testing.
  • Maintains detailed laboratory records and inventories in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures a well-organized and tidy workspace.
  • Collaborates with scientists and cross functional teams to achieve high-quality and efficient research results.
  • Meets project deadlines through individual contributions.
  • Orders lab supplies and chemicals as needed.
  • Assists in handling large or heavy items when required.

What Matters to Scientific Design

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience; industrial experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong multitasking and inventory management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a commitment to performing repetitive laboratory tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethics and enthusiasm for performing lab tasks

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
