The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the corporate finance department, with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and corporate reporting. This role is vital in upholding the integrity of financial information across the organization and driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties:

  • Corporate Accounting Oversight: Lead and manage all corporate accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable/credit (AR/Credit), cost accounting, and taxes. Assist in developing and implementing corporate goals, priorities, and procedures for these areas.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop corporate accounting staff to enhance their business acumen and technical skills, fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strong initiative and leadership to manage and motivate a diverse professional team within the corporate finance structure.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the corporate financial activities, ensuring the accuracy of the general and subsidiary ledgers, and ensuring all corporate costs and expenses are properly recorded.
  • Corporate Financial Analysis: Monitor the company’s financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with corporate plans and forecasts. Deliver strategic insights and recommendations to senior corporate management, including the CFO and Corporate Controller.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Compile and analyze corporate financial reports, addressing discrepancies that require senior management’s attention. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate financial statements and fluctuation analysis reports.
  • Process Improvement: Drive corporate process improvement initiatives and policy development to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and AR/Credit functions. Standardize and streamline corporate accounting procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with corporate laws, regulations (GAAP, SEC, IRS), and company policies. Participate in the development and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Audit & Tax Coordination: Develop and maintain corporate audit schedules and reconciliations required by auditors and management. Coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and corporate financial reporting. Assist with tax provisions, returns, and audit coordination as necessary.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues within the corporate accounting function to maintain effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Manage the full lifecycle of the company’s corporate fixed assets activities, including compliance with all tax and governmental reporting requirements.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure the integrity of corporate reporting, safeguard company assets, and manage financial risks.
  • Leadership & Training: Provide leadership and direction to ensure the successful execution of corporate goals and objectives. Train team members in all functional areas to enhance their understanding of corporate finance workflows.
  • Time Management: Regular attendance, punctuality, and effective time management are essential responsibilities in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in Oracle or similar corporate financial software.
