Payroll & Billing Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Billing Manager to join our team at our Albuquerque office. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of verifiable payroll and billing experience, a strong understanding of wage and hour laws, proficiency in QuickBooks online, exceptional math and analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Long-term care insurance and home care experience are strongly preferred. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Process, sync, and reconcile weekly client billing
- Process client payments via credit card and ACH payment gateways
- Work with long-term care insurance companies to ensure accurate invoicing and payments
- Work with the Operations Director and Area Managers to verify and reconcile electronic employee time records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, and all applicable laws
- Calculate and process employee deductions, garnishments, and withholdings
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
- Generate and submit invoices to clients per contractual agreements
- Resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries related to invoices
- Initiate and follow through with collection calls and emails
- Assist employees with payroll questions and issues
- Maintain new hire workflow processing
- Participate in scheduled and impromptu management meetings
- Provide reports to C-level management as needed or requested
- Maintain accurate records of payroll and billing transactions
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of verifiable experience in payroll and billing
- Proficiency in QuickBooks online and other software (AxisCare experience is strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products
- Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and regulations
- Excellent math and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Pleasant demeanor and positive attitude
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
