Benefits Management Group, Inc. (BMGI) is a growing third party administrator of employee benefit funds. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Person with Accounting Experience for a fast paced environment in our Rockford office. Must be self-starter with ability to work independently. Detail oriented. Excellent people skills. Must be comfortable performing a variety of tasks on a weekly basis. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Experience in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office is a must. Knowledge of health insurance or labor unions is a plus. Minimum of an Associates Degree with 5+ years experience required.

Responsibilities:

Customer service:

  • Assist members who come into the office with questions. Connect them with appropriate person if necessary.
  • Answer phones and assist members with questions. Connect them with appropriate person if necessary.
  • Receive Health Reimbursement (HRA) and vision claims from members and forward to Oak Brook for processing.

 

Maintain membership data in eligibility software:

  • Perform address changes, adding new members, adding / terming dependents
  • Record payments by members for health coverage
  • Assist members in completing beneficiary forms for Welfare, Pension and 401k Plans
  • Filing of contractor contribution reports
  • Maintain electronic participant files

 

Bookkeeping for 5 separate Trust Funds:

  • Deposit checks and record in QB
  • Enter invoices into payables in QB daily and run checks weekly, matching up with invoices and filing
  • Record weekly payroll entry into QB from payroll vendor reports
  • Record investment activity monthly from statements
  • Reconcile bank statements for 9 bank accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for each Trust Fund
  • Prepare monthly contribution reports for Union benefits
  • Filing of accounting documents
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports in Excel
  • Assist in preparation of reports for quarterly Board meetings

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience, be a fast learner with strong attention to detail, be well organized and able to work with little supervision.​
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
