Position Available: DMV Title Clerk
Location: Morgan Hill, CA
Department: Business Office
Position: This role is primarily responsible for the processing of vehicle registrations and handling the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process registrations for all new and used vehicles based on the state they will be titled in.
- Prepare and verify title documents against customer’s purchase agreements.
- Submit legal transfer documentation to the Department of Motor Vehicles daily.
- Ensure funds have been duly collected and the correct lienholder is compensated before processing titles.
- Maintain a comprehensive system for out-of-state titles verification.
- Compile and monitor a list of any outstanding title work.
- Regularly report to management on the status of missing or problematic titles.
- Conduct weekly reconciliations of the DMV schedule, with proactive follow-ups on titles.
- Handle yearly renewals for dealer rentals and company vehicles.
- Manage inventory of in-house plates and stickers.
- Stay updated with title regulations and attend relevant seminars and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years DMV Title Clerk experience, Dealertrack DMV experience a plus
- Self-driven, diligent, and highly organized.
- Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Stellar communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to problem-solve effectively, particularly under stress.
- Positive and helpful attitude complemented by a friendly demeanor.
- Strong work ethics, including the upkeep of a neat and organized workspace.
