Job DescriptionJob Description

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest levels of product quality and compliance throughout the production process. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols and procedures, conducting inspections, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management within the mechanical or industrial industry, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System (QMS):
    Develop, implement, and manage the company’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Regularly review and update quality policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Inspection and Testing:
    Oversee and conduct inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet specified quality standards. Identify and address any defects or non-conformities.

  • Process Improvement:
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Analyze quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

  • Team Leadership:
    Manage and mentor the quality assurance team, providing guidance and training to ensure consistent application of quality control procedures. Foster a culture of quality and accountability within the organization.

  • Compliance and Auditing:
    Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Prepare for and lead internal and external audits, addressing any findings and implementing corrective actions.

  • Supplier Quality Management:
    Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials meets company standards. Conduct supplier audits and work with vendors to resolve quality issues.

  • Customer Feedback and Resolution:
    Analyze customer feedback and complaints related to product quality. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address customer concerns.

  • Reporting:
    Prepare and present regular reports on quality metrics, inspection results, and improvement initiatives to senior management. Provide recommendations for further quality enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality management in the mechanical or industrial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a quality assurance team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance tools and software.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and auditing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to the mechanical or industrial industry.
