Key Responsibilities- Develop and uphold quality policies and procedures; enhance data collection, reporting, and documentation practices.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all analytical laboratory methodologies.
- Utilize Access/LIMS/SQL databases for managing analytical laboratory data.
- Implement control charts and other analytical tools to ensure stability in processes and instruments.
- Investigate discrepancies and error propagation in analytical data.
- Establish statistically valid upper and lower quantification limits for procedures and instruments.
- Create and manage an analytical laboratory performance report card to track baseline metrics and improvements.
- Formulate internal QC standards and procure external QC standards; facilitate third-party testing.
- Assist in the creation and enhancement of laboratory documentation, including log sheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Promote a collaborative and hands-on approach within the laboratory environment, fostering individual and team accountability.
- Adhere to all company, industry, and regulatory standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting, specifically in quality control and assurance; experience in environmental laboratories is advantageous.
- Familiarity with standard analytical laboratory instruments and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to provide constructive feedback professionally.
- Experience with Access or SQL databases.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Proficient in various computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software.
