We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Project Manager to oversee the NYC office build-out and consolidation project. This role involves coordinating closely with the Sr. Facilities Manager and onsite NYS Facilities staff to ensure thorough and well-integrated work plans, keeping the project on track and within budget. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing large-scale commercial office construction or retrofit projects and will be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, vendors (architects, real estate planners, urban planners), and internal teams. The work schedule would include 2-3 days per week (1 day in office, 1-2 days remote). The pay rate for this role is approximately $60-$65 per hour. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the NYC office build-out and consolidation project, ensuring thorough integration of all work plans and maintaining alignment with the overall project objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Facilities Manager and onsite NYS Facilities staff to develop detailed project plans, incorporating inputs from architects, engineers, construction managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate weekly cross-project team meetings, ensuring appropriate record-keeping and follow-up actions are documented and executed.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage an issue-tracking log, prioritizing issues and facilitating timely resolutions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Coordinate with all vendors and internal IT staff to align approaches and ensure timely execution of technology and A/V-related buildout needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant EO#22 requirements and other documented user requirements in all project decision-making processes.
  • Develop a detailed project budget in consultation with Facilities, IT, and the CFO; manage vendor relationships to adhere to the budget and recommend tradeoffs if necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to NYSERDA staff through collaboration with Facilities and Executive Administration to keep them informed and prepared for next steps.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale commercial office construction or significant retrofit projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, policy, public or business administration, architecture, real estate, urban planning, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certification in Project Management (CAPM or PMP).
  • Proven ability to work across client, landlord, state and city regulatory bodies, and with architects, engineers, and vendors to align and execute office build-out plans.
  • Strong proactive issue identification and resolution skills.
  • Ability to understand and address all dimensions of a successful office build-out and consolidation project, including construction, staff communications, seating assignments, move preparation, and logistics.
  • Experience with multiple large-scale project management systems and must be proficient in Asana or MS Project.

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and/or MS Project.
  • In-depth analytical and technical expertise to act as a subject matter expert in a technical or programmatic area.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment based on extensive experience.
  • Extensive awareness of the social, economic, and environmental contexts of energy technology deployment issues.
  • Recognized as an expert in the field
