Endeavor Hotel Group is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Property Accounting Manager to join our team at Endeavor Holiday Inn Executive Center, located in Columbia, Missouri.


The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the hotel's financial health and operational efficiency and is responsible for performing the accounting duties, including providing consistent leadership and accountability in the financial area of the hotel. They are also responsible for focusing on the business's profitability, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels
of internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors' assets.

Administration:

  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of daily hotel revenues via the Income Journal.
  • Monitor and control hotel operations and operating forecasts for the property
  • Maintain timely interaction with Department Heads to ensure property operations are on track and under
  • control.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations for properties as necessary.
  • Compliance with the company's Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls for our finance and accounting operations.
  • Effectively manage and communicate issues related to managing receivables, payables, and timely deposits of all funds.
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses to ensure accurate recording by the company's established guidelines. Advise Department Heads in maintaining the department heads hotel's financial objectives.
  • Assist the general manager with investigating and critiquing variances to budget/forecast or the prior year.
  • Assist with Internal/External/Sales Tax audits as required.
  • Participate as an active member of the management team.
  • Preparation of any special reports, statements, etc., as requested.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • B.A degree in Accounting or Finance or experience in lieu of education
  • Previous experience in accounting management, hotel accounting (Preferred)
  • Experience with Opera Property Management System (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, and financial accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including department heads, executives, and external auditors, to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling financial matters, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, root causes, and solutions related to financial processes, controls, and discrepancies.
  • Ability to work extended hours on occasion.
