We are an integrative psychiatry clinic that offers an array of interventions for mind and body healing, and we are seeking a part-time nurse to join our team You will function in the role of a Registered Nurse providing ketamine and nutrition infusions as well as providing clerical and administrative functions to drive company success.

Responsibilities:

  • Ketamine Infusion Nurse: Provide exceptionally skilled and compassionate care to patients receiving ketamine infusions and injections. Follow standing orders and protocols to ensure patient safety, safely and accurately administering a variety of medications to manage side effects and support the treatment as needed. Maintain accurate dose logs and detail-oriented documentation in the medical record. Demonstrate respect for the sensitive nature of managing, storing, and tracking a controlled substance according to DEA regulations and clinic policies. Communicate clearly with the care team to advocate for patient needs and collaborate on the treatment plan. Maintain complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures. Maintain ACLS certification and be prepared to use those skills in the event of an emergency.
  • Intravenous Nutrition Nurse: Provide exceptionally skilled and compassionate care to patients receiving IV nutrition infusions and injections. Follow standard orders and protocols to ensure patient safety. Maintain accurate logs and detail-oriented documentation in the medical record.
  • Patient Care: Direct patient care responsibilities require skill in patient interviewing, examination, and evaluating and implementing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, including the physician and therapist.
  • Patient Education and Preparation: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans. Must be willing to familiarize self with possible side effects that can occur during infusions and be able to discuss.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes. Chart notes will be completed within 24 hours of appointments.
  • Facilities Support: Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring adequate stocking of supplies, replacing and laundering linens, being able to accurately work audio systems, and ensuring call buttons and emergency equipment are in good working order. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinic inventory logs, reordering medical supplies and medications as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Respond to incoming telephone calls, emails, and faxes. Complete new patient screening and educate potential patients on the services we offer. Organize and track new patient paperwork, following through to ensure all necessary documentation is complete as required by law and our practice policies. Communicate with pharmacies, patients, and insurance companies to troubleshoot difficulties with medications being filled. Begin Prior Authorization paperwork and assist the medical provider with filing once completed. Queue up medication refill requests and perform PMP look-ups on behalf of the physician. Assist in scheduling patients for initial assessments and follow-ups, coordinating the schedules of various clinic providers. Ensure treatment rooms and appointment types are booked accurately to secure proper clinic flow. Track services provided by contract therapists to create patient super bills and ensure appropriate therapist reimbursement. Coordinate patient communications via office text line and email, with a polished communication style and excellent grammar. The right candidate will strive to anticipate the needs of the clinic and proactively take the initiative to ensure the clinic is running smoothly.
  • Greet and assist onsite guests/patients with a friendly and helpful demeanor. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Certifications: ACLS certification required.
  • Proficiency and comfort with starting, monitoring, and discontinuing IV infusions is mandatory.
  • Scrupulous adherence to DEA and clinic policies regarding controlled substance storage, tracking, and administration is mandatory.
  • Thorough familiarity with and ability to follow and direct clinic safety policies and procedures are mandatory.
  • Being a fast learner, adaptable, and efficient is mandatory.
  • The ability to prioritize, anticipate, and multitask is mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail is mandatory.
  • ​Strong organizational skills are mandatory.
  • Being a pleasant, flexible, and assertive team player is mandatory.
  • Being able to show up in person and on time for work reliably is mandatory.
  • A willingness to be flexible in scheduling and to grow with us over time is highly desired.
  • Experience working with ketamine, or in an O.R., or in any other high acuity setting that requires both adherence to protocols as well as the capacity for independent functioning is highly desired.
