Johnson Service Group (JSG) is hiring for a Medical Receptionist in the city of Santa Maria, CA 

Bi-Lingual- English/Spanish 
Days and Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 7am-7pm (8 hour shift) 
Hourly Rate: $20-$22.00 per hour

3+ month temp position.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Medical Receptionist works under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Services, and performs a variety of clerical duties and front office operations in support of the department. This position facilitates a positive patient experience, working in conjunction with clinic staff, by supporting administrative needs. The incumbent will answer incoming calls, make appointments, handle transactions, direct callers to the appropriate person(s), receive and distribute faxes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school education or equivalent.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of administrative support/receptionist experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally.
  • Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively on multi-phone lines and multi-projects in a high traffic environment with changing requirements.
  • Comfortable enforcing policies and procedures regarding security and being responsible for all visitors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to navigate basic computer systems and website applications.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and demonstrate sound judgment to a variety of situations.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures and apply them to a variety of situations.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic are a must.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • SharePoint knowledge a plus.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receptionist
• Answer incoming calls, transfer calls to the appropriate employees, and take comprehensive messages when necessary.
• Greet all visitors, direct them to sign-in, and notify the appropriate employees that their visitor has arrived.
• Accept deliveries and direct all other deliveries to the mailroom.
• Receive incoming faxes and distribute them to their appropriate recipients.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and clutter-free front desk area.

Administrative
• Process insurance verifications and explain details to patients.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Call patients for appointment reminders
• Provide administrative and project support to the Clinic department.
• Record and allocate incoming invoices from vendors.
• Draft professional letters and emails upon request.
• All other duties as assigned.
