Commercial Concrete Construction – CAD Detailer

Job Overview: Detailer

Key Responsibilities:

The CAD Detailer will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:

  • Must be able to read construction drawings, i.e. structural & civil plans
  • Produce line drawings for Line and Grade Teams
  • Produces working formwork shop drawings based on the chosen formwork system
  • Produces pour break drawings
  • Communicates with the field on drawing conflicts and issues related to formwork
  • Reviews construction drawings for dimensional conflicts and clarifications
  • Produces RFIs to resolve conflicts
  • Maintains project drawing files
  • Compares and checks their production drawings to the construction documents

Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent; minimum of one year of related detailing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of BIM

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
  • Good listening skills
  • Ability to comprehend documents such as blueprints and construction drawings
  • Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as geometry, trigonometry, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply them to practical solutions
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to deal with problems involving specific variables in standardized and unique situations
  • Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished by written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as blueprints and construction drawings
