Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Indirect Buyer to join our Supply Chain Management team. The Indirect Buyer will play a critical role in optimizing our procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings initiatives. Reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain Management, this individual will focus on managing the indirect spend categories to support our overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management:
•\tLead the strategic sourcing and category management efforts for indirect spend categories, including but not limited to facilities management, IT services, marketing, travel, professional services, and capital expenditure.
Supplier Relationship Management:
•\tDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery of goods and services.
Cost Savings Initiatives:
•\tIdentify cost-saving opportunities through effective supplier negotiations, demand management, process improvements, and alternative sourcing strategies.
Procurement Process Optimization:
•\tContinuously improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and reduce cycle times.
Risk Management:
•\tMonitor market trends, supplier risks, and regulatory changes to mitigate potential disruptions and ensure business continuity.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
•\tCollaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Operations, and IT, to align procurement strategies with business objectives and requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
•\tUtilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze spend patterns, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Compliance and Ethics:
•\tEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, as well as relevant regulatory requirements, throughout the procurement process.
Qualifications
•\tBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
•\tExperience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, with a focus on indirect spend categories.
•\tProven track record of delivering cost savings, process improvements, and value-added initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
•\tStrong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive favorable outcomes.
•\tExcellent analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
•\tEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
•\tHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
