About American Fulfillment Online

American Fulfillment Online (AFO) is a rapidly growing start-up company in the food and wine industry. Owned by a European-American husband and wife team, and based in Wilmington, North Carolina, our mission is to import and distribute luxury food and wine directly from European producers to our clients in the American Southeast. We bypass traditional importing routes from Europe to New York and cut out the middlemen- allowing us to bring higher-quality products to our customers at a lower cost than our competitors.

We currently import Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and we are the Southeast’s largest supplier of Lambrusco wine. We are actively expanding our portfolio to include other food and wine products from across Europe.

The Job

As a Sales Representative with AFO, you will be instrumental in helping the company expand into new markets across the Southeast and in building more awareness of the unique products we bring to the United States.

Sales Representatives work remotely and have maximum control over their daily work schedules- perfect for self-motivated people who need flexibility in their day and who like to work independently, without the obligation of going to an office.

Responsibilities:

  • Finds and follows new customer leads for AFO’s wine and cheese products

  • Schedules and conducts tastings with potential new clients

  • Develops strong, ongoing relationships with their existing portfolio of clients

  • Attends bi-weekly, virtual team meetings with other staff members

  • Stays up to date on product information and inventory availability

  • Contributes content for the company’s social media content and marketing campaigns

Opportunities for Growth:

  • Successful Sales Representatives will have the freedom to build their own territories and manage additional representatives as needed.

  • Interested team members can learn new skills in other operational areas of the company, including: supply chain logistics, warehouse management, policy and regulatory compliance.

  • Interested team members can learn new skills in personal and business marketing and in building a social media following.

Location:

  • Preference for Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC; Must be located in North Carolina

Requirements

  • Candidates must be 21+ years of age at the time of application.

  • Candidates must possess a valid North Carolina driving license and have the ability to drive independently to client locations and tastings.

  • Candidates cannot have been convicted of an alcohol-related offense in the state of North Carolina in the past 5 years.

  • Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of work experience, with a strong preference for those with direct sales experience or with experience in the food and beverage industry.

  • Candidates must be comfortable communicating with people they have never met before, including in the following scenarios:

    • Markets, food and wine shows, and industry fairs

    • “Cold-calling” potential leads by phone and email

    • Pitching potential customers at their place of business

  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

Sales representatives are 1099 employees with American Fulfillment Online and will have the ability to determine their own daily working hours. There is no limit to the amount of money that can be made each week.

Sales Representatives receive a 10% commission on all completed sales, paid out on a weekly basis, including all repeat sales made by the accounts in their portfolio. If a representative generates more than $5,000 in monthly sales revenue, they will receive 15% commission on all monthly sales made after that quota is met.

All necessary ABC licensing, professional training, and product costs are paid for by AFO.
