Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor, the primary function of the Facilities Technician is to perform scheduled preventative and unscheduled corrective maintenance activities for the Maintenance and Facilities department at the New England facilities. Your contribution will directly impact the efficiency and functionality of our workspace, creating a safe and productive environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Perform required preventative facilities maintenance in a timely fashion
  • Conduct any corrective activities regarding the upkeep of facilities.
  • Respond to ad hoc facilities requests from employees or management.
  • Assist with the relocation and rearrangement of furniture, equipment, and supplies to accommodate office renovations, reconfigurations, or special events.
  • Regularly inspect lighting fixtures throughout the facility to identify and replace burnt-out or malfunctioning light bulbs promptly and ensuring that lighting levels meet safety and productivity standards as needed.
  • Perform painting tasks as needed to maintain the appearance of interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
  • Support organizational departments with Facilities/Maintenance needs as required.
  • Ensure all job-related training is completed on-time.
  • Coordinate and host outside contractors that perform work at the New England facilities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in the performance of work at the site:
    • Lock Out/Tag Out
    • Work Permits
    • Job Hazard Analysis
  • Document all work performed via the organizations asset management database following cGMP guidelines.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Must have minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a facilities technician role, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment.
  • A strong safety mindset is paramount.
  • Must be able to physically climb ladders and work from heights.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Must be able to wear various types of respirators, protective clothing, required PPE.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are needed.
  • Self-starter with the capability to work independently and in a team, environment is necessary.
  • Ability to proactively identify areas of concern or items that need to be addressed in the facility.
