Salary range for the Chief Information Officer is $180k to $200k depending on experience.


Chief Information Officer – NAC is an award-winning design firm with a strong mission-driven culture of collaboration and 50 years of history in the AEC industry. NAC is looking for a Chief Information Office to be a leader as we continue with our long history of excellence. The Chief Information Officer is accountable for defining and delivering IT strategy and capabilities across the enterprise. This includes AEC specific technology, data analytics and business intelligence, development and support, infrastructure, security, and technical services. Reporting to the CEO, the CIO will be responsible for giving oversight and direction to the IT team and firm leaders on strategy, standards, and opportunities. The CIO is responsible both for technology and digital innovation.

It is critical for the CIO to build strong and productive relationships with all department leaders and cultivate an ecosystem of reliability and efficiency from which a culture of exploration and innovation can thrive enabling NAC to embrace and implement technology that is continually advancing.


Requirements:
  • Strategy: Work closely with fellow department leaders’ team members as a trusted advisor to define and drive a technology strategy focused on forward-looking differentiating technology. Assess current platforms, the evolving needs of the architectural practice and the competitive landscape to craft and execute a technology roadmap that meets the long-term needs of NAC.
  • Leadership: Build strong relationships with firm leaders and develop a clear understanding of their issues, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure, on an ongoing basis, that current and planned technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with company and business objectives. Prepare and monitor IT operational budgets that meet prevailing objectives and constraints.
  • Team Development: Hire, develop, and retain a diverse, highly qualified team of technology professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability in the IT department. Lead a highly effective service-oriented IT team.
  • IT Operations: Direct the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the computing infrastructure that supports the firm’s operations and business applications. Support the core business through technology capabilities that maximize performance, scale, reliability, and flexibility. Lead the company’s cybersecurity efforts to safeguard assets and interests and oversee the integrity and security of systems. Develop and implement protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of disasters or data loss. Establish and enforce IT policies, processes, firm data asset management standards and methodologies. Develop external IT partners that can meet our current and future needs.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5-years minimum experience at the Director level.
  • 10-years’ experience in an IT leadership role
  • Experience that includes IT Strategy & Architecture, Project Management and Delivery.
  • Experience developing holistic technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in leading, managing and ensuring accountability of a diverse IT team.
  • Experience working with vendors, service providers and internal staff to optimize IT service delivery.
  • Experience managing IT annual budgets.
  • Experience recruiting and developing IT talent.

Work Environment

  • This position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels. Each office provides collaborative work areas and shared resources such as video conferencing, printing/scanning, and a café for dining.

Physical Demands

  • Hand/Wrist/Finger dexterity for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and lift 50-80 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time

Position Type/Hours expected to work

  • This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week
