Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design and Implementation:

    • Design and implement network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
    • Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions to support organizational growth and evolving technology needs.

  2. Configuration and Optimization:

    • Configure and optimize network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, for optimal performance, security, and reliability.
    • Implement network policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure consistent and secure network operations.

  3. Network Monitoring and Management:

    • Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools and utilities.
    • Proactively identify and resolve network issues, bottlenecks, and performance degradation to minimize downtime and disruptions.

  4. Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce network security policies, procedures, and controls to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.

  5. Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Provide advanced technical support for escalated network-related issues and outages, diagnosing and resolving complex network problems in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve network issues and coordinate resolution efforts.

  6. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, documentation updates, and collaboration.

  7. Project Management and Collaboration:

    • Lead network-related projects and initiatives from conception to completion, including planning, execution, and documentation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, security analysts, and developers, to support overall IT initiatives and business objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent are preferred.

  2. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or administration roles, with demonstrated proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures.

  3. Technical Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking.
    • Experience with network hardware and software, including Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless controllers.
    • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Cisco Prime.

  4. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex network issues and performance bottlenecks.
    • Ability to analyze network traffic patterns, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
