Job Summary:

This occupation requires the ability to start up and operate extruders, sheet dies, automated material handling equipment and all related equipment used in the production of plastic sheet. Makes mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance of all equipment including grinders to insure the equipment is in good operating condition. Responsible for keeping regrind inventory under control through the use of scrap grinders, dumping stations, blender settings etc.

Work Performed:

  • Set-up and operation of extruders, sheet dies and other related equipment required to produce plastic sheet.
  • Responsible for correct material handling setups and verifying material disposition.
  • Operates and adjusts various automated material handling equipment to include but not limited to a power lift.
  • Lubrication of extruders, sheet lines, automated material handling equipment and other related equipment.
  • Recordkeeping of raw materials used and of finished sheet.
  • Keeping extruders supplied with raw materials.
  • Observance of safety rules and regulations and good housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) year technical degree/certificate in related field (TCAT or equivalent) or
  • Two (2) + years of manufacturing machine operation experience
