Production line Mechanic _ Direct Hire
What This Position Is AboutThe position exists to ensure the readiness and accurate functioning of machines in the production line (filter making, making/packing, and auxiliary equipment), meeting production requirements,quality, and other standards at the lowest possible cost.
The Mechanic is responsible for performing regular maintenance checks/activities and whenever required repairing the machines in an efficient and quality manner to ensure the smooth execution of the production process.
During line operation supports operators in the execution of production in line with operation instructions and safety and quality standards.Areas of Responsibilities
  • Qualified machine maintenance & repair:
    Ensuring proper functioning of the machines in filter production, cigarette production and packaging. Carry out machine set-up, conversions, adjustments, maintenance and required repair work, including removal of mechanical line defects to reach maximum line efficiency. The incumbent performs continuous monitoring and inspection of all mechanical machine functions as well as all crucial parameter regulations and measurements.
  • Spare parts management:
    Performing regular inspection and preventive maintenance of machines and production systems according to standards. Responsible for spare parts condition assessment and orders spare parts in the SAP system in line with spare parts management rules. Planning and requesting spare parts in optimal time and quantities (order, receipt, and timely installation of spare parts on the production lines).
Troubleshooting activities:
Performing troubleshooting activities to ensure quality and efficiency of production run during assigned production shifts. Regularly supervising line operation by means of stoppage and breakdown data analysis. Performing corrective and preventive activities according to line needs. Sharing all needed information with other mechanics and electrician technicians working in subsequent shifts and using all collected knowledge for proper planning of shift and machine maintenance.
Ensuring quality and working on Continuous Improvement:
Controlling machinery operation correctness and production process performance to ensure proper product quality and adherence to quality standards. Developing suggestions on how to improve the functioning of the existing equipment and implementing suggestions from other employees. Working on the Continuous Improvement (CI) of processes within Make Pack, as well as machines and systems used in the production of semi-finished and finished products as per standards. Ensures production area cleanliness, compliance with 5S3R standards, and waste segregation. Ensures completeness and condition of own working tools. Support and play an active role in companywide CI initiatives such as IWS - Integrated Work System.Safety:
Adhering to operational, legal, and official regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention. Understanding health and safety aspects of own work, identifying potential hazards and always making own workplace healthy and safe. Demonstrating safe behavior, reporting incidents and near misses to the supervisor, reporting identified unsafe conditions and behaviors, and eliminating them within their authority. Passes information on possible safety-related issues during shift handover; monitors activities of external suppliers/supports in terms of safety.Who Are We Looking For - Requirements
  • Secondary education. Completion of technical/mechanical apprenticeship or similar.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a production environment in a similar role.
  • Fluency in English
  • Basic PC skills (MS Office applications).
