Lakeland Communications has partnered with Olsen Thielen & Co., LTD to fill their open Accounting Manager role.

As Lakeland Communications continues to grow, we are looking to add a full-time, benefit-eligible Accounting Manager position to our team in Milltown, Wisconsin.

Our headquarters in Milltown offer the perfect blend of professional opportunity and idyllic rural life. Join us to take advantage of the abundant recreational and natural opportunities of beautiful Polk County, Wisconsin. Polk County is well-known for our many lakes, rivers, golf courses, trails, and the national scenic riverway of the St. Croix River. Accountants tired of travel-heavy work will find stability and balance here, while still being just a little over an hour from the Twin Cities and all the opportunities and amenities of the metro.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and regulatory activities of Lakeland Communications. This role is a dynamic and integral part of our rural broadband team and the community that we serve. This position reports to the General Manager and has the option for supervisory responsibilities and significant growth.

What are the key responsibilities?

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing operating and capital budgets
  • Preparing and analyzing financial statements
  • Tax and regulatory reporting
  • Ensuring strong internal controls and audit functions
  • Conducting financial forecasts and models and investment analysis
  • Perform acquisition analysis
  • Financial reporting to the board
  • Overseeing and completion of payroll
  • HR benefit administration

What are the qualifications?

In addition to what's listed above, candidates should be aware of the following qualifications and requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Finance, or similar related degree
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days a week
  • Experience in regulatory environments and FCC and state regulatory agencies is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in a management role preferred but not required
  • CPA preferred but not required
