Sales Person - Window Covering Designer

We are looking for a candidate who is an independent, tenacious, genuine salesperson and relationship-driven individual. Someone who diligently pursues new business opportunities yet offers practical solutions guided by sincere, integral business and professional values. The ideal candidate will be motivated by internal standards of excellence to exceed expectations and to be a contributing partner in a growing business. This position will require a consistent and ongoing business development program of scheduled meetings with realtors, builders, architects, interior designers, contractors, tradespeople, property managers, BNI, Chamber and other networking groups. Part-time hours and a flexible work schedule are welcome and frankly ideal. The work schedule is as you make it, but it is important to note, this will not be an 8 to 5 / Monday - Friday position. Consult times are always during daylight hours, but often order inputs and sales documentation are off-hours. Your ever-increasing sales results, and expanded industry relationships, will elevate your earning potential.

In the world of window coverings, we have abundant design options, critical order details, fractions of inches, hundreds of vendors, and countless homes/businesses to decorate, so its important that we are able to nimbly swap hats between sales pitch, product specifications and service to make a client feel as though they are our only priority. The candidate that thrives in this position is one that is motivited by sales success while finding joy in providing creative client solutions and sincere customer service.

You will be the partner of an energetic entrepreneur and directly contribute to the success of this not-so-small, woman-owned small business. You will learn about and become part of the ever-changing interior design community helping people marry window covering function with fashion. Founded in 1992 with a family atmosphere, Budget Blinds is the #1 provider of custom window coverings in North America. A Sales Design Consultant with Budget Blinds involves showing people our beautiful window coverings and helping them select the best solutions for their homes.

This is a base plus commision position.

Responsibilities
  • Complete 3-4 in home consultations each day
  • Offer exceptional customer service and expert design advice
  • Accurately measure windows and place orders for products
  • Discuss your job details with installers when necessary
  • Document all sales communications
  • Respond to emails and phone calls promptly
  • Follow up on all leads and pending sales to closure
  • Stay current on Window Treatment trends and product changes
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and periodic trainings
Qualifications
  • 2 years of commision sales experience preferred
  • Excellent, clean driving record, must pass background and drug test
  • Articulate oral and written presentation skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Must be able to climb stairs and lift 20lbs
  • Measure overhead and while on a 6-foot ladder
  • Honest, Respectful and Service Oriented required
Nice to have
  • Experience in the window coverings and/or home furnishings industry is helpful
  • An interior design sense and current home design trend intelligence to make window covering project suggestions and steer clients buying decisions.
  • Relationship development skills to cultivate referrals from existing customers and partnerships with new prospects.
  • Expertise with new business development and business-to-business sales
