Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee the New Product Development process from idea conception through launch, as well as manage the existing product portfolio. This position involves managing products throughout their lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer feedback, defining the product vision, and working closely with the engineering team to deliver successful products. Additionally, it includes collaborating with the sales, marketing, and customer care teams to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Essential Functions:

· Manage the New Product Development process from concept through launch

· Create and execute product briefs for all new products and line extensions. This should include pricing, return on investment for launches, costing, product positioning statements, key selling points, important features, competitive information, and timelines

· Identify market needs by conducting competitive and category analysis to find any gaps in the market.

· Work with Brand Ambassador, Sales Reps and Customers to gather market information and seek feedback on new product concepts and prototypes.

· Manage the Cross-Functional Team and introduce approved concepts, manage timelines, set expectations, and keep projects on track.

· Collaborate with marketing team to translate new products into sales support material encompassing sales brochures and other marketing material collateral.

· Manage and update Product Pipelines for both Norix and Tonik brands.

· Manage existing Product Categories for new and existing products as they evolve through the lifecycle. Identify extensions for growth, opportunities for mature and drops for aging products.

· Review margin reports and product profitability with recommendations on increases and make recommendations when/why products should be dropped based on sales history data.

· Train sales and customer care on new and existing products

· Prepare and conduct product presentations to executive team, sales, and customers.

· Other duties as needed or assigned

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

· Identify market needs through field sales input & client meetings during field travel.

· Ability to conduct initial research with customers and end-users and use those learnings to drive the product development process from concept through launch.

· Manage outside design consultants.

· Provide support to the field by providing a one-pager when new competitive information is available.

· Send “product update memo” to internal staff to make them aware of adds, drops and changes as needed.

· Explore opportunities with outside vendors to enhance and optimize products.

· Travel as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Strong understanding product development processes

· Organized, analytical, and strong attention to detail.

· Self-starter and takes the initiative to kick-off projects.

· Ability to improve processes, products, and services.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.

· Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines promptly and efficiently.

· Self-motivated with good time management skills so projects are completed on time.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

· Knowledge of SmartSheet

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Design

· 5+ years working experience in leading product management efforts in a manufacturing environment. Contract furniture industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

· General office environment – ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, carry, push, pull
