XSITE LLC is looking for a Mid to Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in San Diego, California.
We are Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned company headquartered in San Diego. We provide full spectrum systems and systems-of-systems engineering and integration services and solutions for space, C5ISR, cyber and enterprise information systems.
We are transitioning over to a sustainment work for a dedicated Modeling and Simulation software application supporting the U.S. Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC). This application provides critical predictive information to SATCOM System Experts, RSSCs, and CCMD J6’s to make informed communication planning decisions. As part of this sustainment work, there are new requirements for specific System Engineer tasks.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement a comprehensive system engineering process that follows the Space Systems Command (SSC) Standard System Engineering Requirements and Products
- Develop and maintain a Systems Engineering process and Management Plan (SEMP)
- Build and assess systems engineering and architecture models using a modeling methodology to conduct technical assessments that inform key technical decisions
- Document the architectural products, including the applicable operational and systems views referencing current DOD Architecture Framework guidance and approaches.
- Perform system integration, to include an integration strategy, a verification/validation plan, and documentation on integration points and data migration strategy
- Solve technical problems independently, follow through on assigned tasks, and manage time efficiently
- Provide analysis support of modeling and simulation input and output data
- Assist technical writing team with maintenance of operational manuals, technical manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Assist team members with technical assistance of modeling software
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering or related disciplines
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance preferred; ability to obtain required
- Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering
- Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Sparx)
- Experience with modeling tools (e.g., STK, AFSIM, Matlab/Simulink)
- Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CompTIA Security+ CE
- Agile process experience and related tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
- Knowledge of Software Development process (including promotion) within Government networks
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills, excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
Level: Mid-Senior Level
Location: San Diego, CA preferred. Colorado Springs, CO secondary location.
Telework: Hybrid remote/onsite, with typical set schedule at Government facility.
