As a Product Development and Test Engineering group member, the Electronic Test Technician will support our engineering team in providing the highest standards of integrated circuit testing and common PCB board modification including soldering SMT devices. The Test Technician (Support Engineer) must have basic semiconductor device testing knowledge, be willing to learn new skills quickly, pay attention to details, and be a creative problem solver, effective communicator, and a team player. This can be a physically demanding position that may require lifting, kneeling, bending, packaging, and the ability to work in a semiconductor test lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in general engineering tasks such as board assembly, soldering, wiring, semiconductor device testing, data collection, etc.
  • Perform daily lab activities, including tracking lab supply inventory, handling test equipment rental and calibration, ordering parts or components, configuring test bench according to instructions, etc.
  • Draft preliminary work instruction for external PCB assembly house with guidance from team members
  • Generate weekly and monthly lab inventory reports, including equipment and asset tracking, test board tracking and equipment cost tracking,
  • Communicate with external vendors to procure engineering equipment or services. Business email writing skills are needed.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years college associate degree in electronics or related field is required
  • Two to five years of relevant industry experience as an electronic test technician or support engineer in semiconductor or wireless system industry
  • Hands-on experience with VNA, signal generator, signal analyzer, scope or other common lab equipment
  • Capable of simple PCB rework such as soldering/de-soldering SMT components
  • Can read board schematics and assembly drawings. Support component selection and building BOM kits
  • Familiar with PCB assembly flow, can work independently with external PCB assembly house by providing PCB assembly/rework instructions, correcting components, and conducting simple visual inspection upon receiving reworked PCB. Knowledge about PCB reflow is desired but not required.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good documentation and report generation skills using MS Office tools
  • Team player

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding how basic electrical circuits work, such as ADC, PLL or DACRF work experience is preferred
  • Experience with using and modifying automated test programs to test devices in the lab
  • Good problem-solving skills preferred
  • Able to interpret component datasheets and effectively communicate with engineers

Compensation and Benefits:

At GreenWave Radios, our compensation package includes base pay and pre-IPO stock options. The base pay range for this role is between $45,000 and $60,000. Your base pay will depend on the market, interview results, skills, qualifications, experience, education, and location.
