Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring that completed assemblies meet design specifications and quality standards through thorough testing and inspection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and test products, subassemblies, and mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Recognize failures and set-up problems and determine the need for corrective action.
  • Operate test software on standard computer systems and complete technical assessments of company products and customer returns.
  • Perform or oversee rework, debug, and final tests prior to return or disposition of company products and customer returns.
  • Read test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment to be used.
  • Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions.
  • Connect units to be tested to test equipment and read electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
  • Analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure and confer with engineers, technicians, and production personnel regarding testing procedures and results.
  • Operate x-ray equipment to verify internal assembly and alignment of parts according to specifications.
  • Maintain department-specific records and ensure general housekeeping of assigned work area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-2 years of experience and/or training in the electronics field.
  • Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
