Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Microservices Architect to join our growing team. This position will play a pivotal role in leading the design and implementation of a strategic plan to break down our current monolithic applications and transition towards a microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop a comprehensive plan for migrating our monolithic applications to a microservices architecture. This includes defining the service decomposition strategy, communication protocols, containerization approach, and API design principles.
  • Design and Development:
    • Lead the design and development of new cloud-native applications using microservices principles and best practices. Choose the right technology stack and ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with developers to implement the microservices architecture for existing applications. This includes designing APIs, developing microservices, and integrating them into a cohesive system.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Possess a deep understanding of modern distributed systems concepts, containerization technologies (Docker), and API gateways.
  • Communication:
    • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work collaboratively with developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Project Management:
    • Establish priorities and schedules and oversee and review the work of systems analysis personnel and programming personnel.
    • Review feasibility studies and time and cost estimates of new or revised systems.
    • Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and operating systems applications.
    • Work with stakeholders and management to ensure projects are completed on time and according to organization standards.
  • Consultation and Coordination:
    • Consult with personnel in other information systems groups to coordinate activities.
    • Consult with management to clarify systems and programs intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine the extent of application systems changes required.
  • Training and Standards Development:
    • Train co-workers in systems analysis, feasibility studies, programming, and program coding.
    • Prescribe standards for terms and symbols used to simplify interpretation of programs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Compile documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.
    • Prepare records and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience defining systems and application architecture, with the ability to provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience in JAVA (including Restful APIs, Node Angular, AWS Cloud concepts, Micro Services, SOAP web services, JSON).
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision.
  • Combination of directly related technical training and hands-on experience.
