Essential Accountabilities:

  • Oversee Data Center and Server Operations, Windows Services Management, Networking and Security, and provide Service Desk Leadership
  • Oversee and optimize data center operations in North America for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Enforce best practices for hardware provisioning, virtualization techniques, and disaster recovery plans
  • Lead cross-functional teams in planning and executing server deployments, upgrades, and migrations
  • Direct administration of all Windows-based services, including Active Directory / Entra ID, group policy management, M365, and end-user equipment
  • Ensure stability, security, and compliance of all Windows-based environments
  • Strategize and execute software distribution, patch management, and endpoint security measures
  • Manage maintenance, implementation, and optimization of networking infrastructure to support organizational needs and technological advancements
  • Oversee and maintain network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection processes, and VPN management
  • Analyze network performance and traffic patterns to enhance efficiency and security posture
  • Provide strategic leadership for the service desk, ensuring efficient resolution of IT incidents and requests.
  • Develop and oversee service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPI’s) for assessing service
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to advance service desk processes and technologies

Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Collaborate with other IT and business leaders on strategic initiatives and projects
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the IT infrastructure

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Computer science, Information Technology or closely related field, or IT certifications and/or knowledge from work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in IT field involving building & maintaining IT infrastructure, (servers, SAN/NAS storage solutions, virtualization)
  • Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in working for a manufacturing automotive supplier
  • Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in working for an international company collaborating with other international IT teams
  • Expert knowledge of IT infrastructure, Windows, VMware, servers, SAN/NAS storage systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with NetApp FAS storage systems, NFS, iSCSI
  • Strong knowledge of IT Security practices, ability to harden system & application configurations
  • Strong knowledge of networking, routing, switching, firewall fundamentals
  • Preferred: basic Cisco IOS switch/router configuration know-how
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities, ability to trace/isolate a complex problem across multiple systems to identify root cause
  • Strong knowledge of private key infrastructure (PKI)
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure, Intune, etc.
  • Ability to break down complex IT implementations into smaller tasks/actions, to partner with other IT team members to distribute the effort and achieve timely results
  • Continuously learning, monitoring IT trends and exploring new technologies
  • Ability to train/mentor other IT colleagues on IT systems/technologies, to help build up the knowledge within the team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
