The Facilitator Lead will coordinate and collaborate with caregivers and families, employees of Miami Dade County Public Schools and Broward County Public Schools and community-based organizations. He/she is responsible for establishing partnerships with schools and organizations, overseeing the preparation and curriculum outlines, the coordination of meetings spaces for group trainings, meetings, with parents, families, and caregivers for evidence-based parent workshops. The Facilitator Lead also assists Program Manager with completing reports for funders, will handle complex issues, and provides coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate groups.

This is a 40 hour position

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review assigned contracts periodically to ensure contract compliance is being met.Monitor contract deliverables/outcomes and report to Program Manager
  • Create and submit program reporting as required by funders.
  • Ensure that direct reports are trained and receive professional development training annually.
  • Assist in implementing mandated curricula as stated in agency contract agreement as needed.
  • Adhere to agency-wide and funder training requirements are met to ensure program fidelity.
  • Oversee the collection of program data, ensuring accuracy of program reports.
  • Ensures that the desired number of participants and services are performed for Raising the BAR.
  • Identify and secure sites to serve Miami Dade and Broward County Public Schools, private schools, community organizations and other special programs in the community.
  • Assist facilitators as needed in the implementation of educational sessions or additional positive parenting courses and activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of community events.
  • Communicate and advocate effectively for positive health behaviors among participants.
  • Monitor and assess participants that may need referral services, as needed.
  • Regularly checks and sends correspondence as needed via email and or project management system.
  • Commute in a timely manner to assigned job sites as required.
  • Attend all required agency-wide and individual staff meetings and/or trainings (locally and nationally).
  • Responsibly represent the agency with a high standard of professionalism.
  • Complete any required training before the deadline (as provided by the onboarding process or your direct supervisor upon hire).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BA preferably in communications, public relations, education, administration, or a similar discipline.
  • English language is required (can read, write and speak fluently).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a type of facilitator or experience teaching parents.
  • Excellent self-starter and must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in computer skills and programs such as Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Effective and clear communications skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Must pass Level II background check requirements.


Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in contract compliance, community relations and/or public speaking.
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish or Creole).
  • 1-2 years of experience in working with parents in urban settings is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or strong desire to see parents achieve positive life outcomes.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Miami Dade and Broward County and local sub-communities.
  • A teaching certificate is an asset.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checks emails daily and responds to correspondence.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to commute to Dade and Broward sites – visiting multiple sites in one day.
  • Available to work occasional evenings, weekends, overnights, and conduct out of state travel as required.

Physical Demands:

This position is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear. The position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
