Job Summary

Miami Children's Museum Inc is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ECI Assistant Lead Teacher to support the development and implementation of a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, and physical growth of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in creating and implementing daily lesson plans that align with the High Scope curriculum and Reggio Emilia approach.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and attractive classroom environment that fosters optimal growth and development.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, promoting self-esteem and self-discipline, and encouraging exploration and questioning.
  • Observe and record children's growth and development, sharing observations with the Lead Teacher to facilitate learning and growth.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in preparation for parent conferences, assessment documentation, and family events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, center activities, and staff development workshops.
  • Model positive conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and teamwork skills.
  • Complete a minimum of 30 hours of in-service coursework annually to reinforce best practices in early care and education.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the Early Childhood Institute's Staff Handbook and Miami Children's Museum's Employee Handbook.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Passion for working with young children, families, and communities
  • Ability to work well with young children and their families
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills
  • CDA and/or A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year assistant teaching experience in a preschool environment
  • Department of Children and Families 45-hour courses
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification
