Overview
The Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the USAID Research and Development Activity project. This role includes developing budgets, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with USAID financial regulations and policies, and monitoring project expenditures. The Financial Analyst will support the Research Director/Chief of Party in financial decision-making and maintain financial relationships with subcontractors and vendors. Position is contingent upon award and client approval.
 ResponsibilitiesBudget Development and Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with USAID's financial guidelines and project objectives and monitor project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities. 
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts and ensure compliance with USAID financial regulations and policies.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and provide financial insights and recommendations to project leadership.
Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with USAID financial regulations and policies, and prepare for and support financial audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and accurate.
Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Manage financial relationships with subcontractors and vendors, and ensure timely payments and financial documentation are in order.
Financial Documentation: Maintain detailed financial records and documentation, and ensure all financial documentation is organized and accessible for audits and reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Years of Experience:  5+ years of experience.
Degree:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Technical Expertise: ​​Proficiency in financial software and tools.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Leadership Skills: ​​​Strong financial planning and management skills.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and respond to challenges in a dynamic environment and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification.
  • Experience working on USAID-funded projects, and/or international development or research projects.
  • Familiarity with USAID policies, financial regulations, and compliance reporting requirements.

Location:  Remote, will be required to travel to the DC area and other locations upon request.  Must be able to work effectively in a virtual environment and manage a remote team.
