Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting • Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP. • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. • Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. • Assist with monthly / quarterly memo to the board of directors and ownership.
2. Audit and Compliance • Coordinate and support annual audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations. • Ensure proper documentation of all accounting records and transactions for audit and compliance purposes. • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to GAAP. • Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and address complex accounting issues.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management. • Build models to analyze and justify capital project.
4. Process Improvement • Play key role in the design and implementation of a new ERP system. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function. • Stay current with changes in GAAP and other accounting standards
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required. • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. • Experience with SAP Business One and Quickbooks is an advantage. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Oil and gas experience is an advantage.
