Job DescriptionBrightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Product & Platform Innovation - Data Science & Analytics to join our rapidly growing team In this role, you will work collaboratively across business departments forming partnerships to use data science and analytics to design reporting and perform descriptive/diagnostic analytics and evolving to predictive/prescriptive analytics to support growth and profitability via a team of resources. You will work closely with IT and Business Operations leads to ensure alignment of metrics, processes and visions. The principal purpose is to drive transformation, automation, profitability for the Technology organization and Brightspeed. In this position, you will report to the Director, Product & Platform Innovation - Governance.
As the Senior Manager, Product & Platform Innovation - Data Science & Analytics, your duties & responsibilities will include:
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data enablement and data driven business decisions ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to daily operations
- Identify, document, analyze, and communicate requirements for reporting analytics and decision support tools
- Conduct thorough analysis of data to identify patterns, anomalies, and signs of corruption
- Develop and implement strategies for detecting and rectifying data integrity issues
- Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to maintain and enhance data accuracy and reliability
- Lead initiatives by developing and driving the operational and data science requirements to create AI/ML business insights that drives business efficiencies and operational spend
- Use data and KPIs to drive the system platform to support and automate business functions in an iterative and agile implementation format
- Identify and prioritize key areas for process improvement using data analytics and science, including operational efficiency, growth, and innovation initiatives
- Leverage and standardize business KPIs to drive execute iterative constant improvement and drive strategic growth
- Lead the end-to-end reporting, analytics and science processes for all assigned initiatives to deliver on KPIs
- Lead the effort to work with organizational teams and leadership to evaluate operational opportunities, review data sets, create statistical models and forecasts to track program and business benefits
- Drive long-term modernization and technical advancement planning through data for digital growth programs
- Formulate data driven plans to meet business needs and address industry trends and challenges
- Responsible for project management of reporting and analytics projects from the analysis and requirements gathering phase, through the development, testing and final delivery or scorecard metrics and/or reporting solutions
- Lead the effort to translate business needs into requirements to recommend and build reporting solutions
- Responsible for companywide Operational Readiness Production Testing reporting including requirement traceability, development completion rate, defect close rate, and ELT readout dashboards
- Support business case development with cost/ benefit analysis for continuous funding and prioritization
Implementing and Innovating Consumer and Business System Stacks
- Drive a scalable and robust cross-domain E2E transformation through consistent metrics, reporting, analytics and predictive data science for Consumer and Business markets
- Define product & platform innovation and enable operational efficiencies, through key analytics, enhancing product and service delivery, customer experiences
- Build and manage a team of resources that will enhance & support internal and external clients via KPI reporting, data analytics and science
- Own, manage, and communicate financials and KPIs for Architecture, Product and Technology. Collaborate with business partners to ensure: Develop business cases with cost/ benefit analysis for continuous funding and prioritization. Documentation is consistent, clear and properly retaine. Required level of training, reporting documentation and communication is available for all audiences.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead a team of data scientists and analysts to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Oversee the training and development of team members to ensure they are equipped with the skills needed to identify and address data corruption
- Lead a team that works collaboratively across business departments performing analysis on large, complex data sets that help drive business decisions for the consumer and business segments
- Guide team in creating and executing growth and talent strategies, including skill development, targeted training, succession planning, and a data-driven approach
- Responsible for collaborating with organizational leadership and business partners to maintain and keep project schedules, playbooks, and release schedules
- Demonstrated exceptional presentation, interpersonal, relationship development, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present at the most senior level of the business
- Responsible for team operational logistics including people & culture initiatives, operational get-well plans, assignment implementation & follow up, and communication cadences & agendas
- Coordinate and manage organizational goals, objectives, budget and KPI attainment
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain definitions and ensure consistent use of standardized metrics and KPIs across the organization
- Manage domain JIRA management including Product Owner partnership, user story oversight and management, PI planning prioritization, and completion tracking
Vendor Management
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to procure necessary technologies and services
- Responsible for coordinating, supervising and supporting a team of independent contractors
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure optimal value and quality
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Mathematics or Related Field; Computer Science, MIS, IT, Software Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross team projects
- 7+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in telecommunications, specifically dispatch
- Reporting, Data Science, AI, Advanced Analytics and ML
- Experience leading data science, AI, ML and analytics teams and analytics development programs
- AI experience with a variety of data science and big data tools (R, Python, SPARK, etc.) and technology
- Cloud Platform experience
- Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis
- Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Passionate about leading people, driving change, and focused on innovating systems and support through collaboration
- Enjoy simplifying and reinventing systems and experiences, have a solid strategic vision, and can identify friction points and implement innovative solutions
