Job Summary:

The HR Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks related to human resources and employee relations. This role involves developing and implementing risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and collaborating with various departments to support a safe and compliant workplace. The HR Risk Manager will also play a key role in crisis management and will serve as a key advisor on risk-related matters affecting employees and HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential HR-related risks, including compliance, legal, and operational risks.

  • Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks. Monitor and update these strategies as necessary.

  • Compliance Management: Ensure the company's HR practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Stay current with changes in employment laws and regulations and update policies accordingly.

  • Incident Management: Lead investigations into HR-related incidents and complaints. Develop and execute action plans to address and resolve issues while minimizing risk exposure.

  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for employees and managers on risk management, compliance, and best practices related to HR and employee relations.

  • Crisis Management: Assist in the development and implementation of crisis management plans related to HR issues. Provide guidance and support during times of organizational crisis.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of risk management activities and prepare regular reports for senior management. Ensure proper documentation of incidents and compliance efforts.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Legal, Compliance, and Security, to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, SHRM-SCP, or PHR) is a plus.

  • Experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a risk management or compliance role.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, risk management principles, and HR best practices.

  • Proven experience in handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
