Job Summary: The Senior Budget Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing the organization's budgetary processes. This role involves developing, monitoring, and forecasting budgets to ensure financial stability and alignment with strategic objectives. The Senior Budget Analyst provides critical insights and recommendations to support financial planning and decision-making, helping to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, including preparing budget proposals and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance, identifying variances and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather budgetary needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key budgetary issues and trends.
  • Conduct variance analysis to assess budget performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain budget models and forecasting tools to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on budgeting processes and best practices.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and assist with audits as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting principles, financial analysis, and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel functions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with budget management software and financial modeling tools is a plus.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
