Job Summary: The Senior FP&A Analyst is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis efforts within the organization. This role involves managing complex financial models, developing forecasts and budgets, and providing strategic insights to support senior management in decision-making. The Senior FP&A Analyst will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and drive business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive financial analysis, including detailed variance analysis, profitability analysis, and scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the development and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare and present high-level financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.
- Partner with business units to understand financial performance, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and provide actionable recommendations to drive business improvements.
- Analyze and integrate financial data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting practices, and systems, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior FP&A analysts, supporting their professional development and ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and modeling for special projects, strategic initiatives, and management requests as needed.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 5-7 years) in financial planning and analysis, with a proven track record of managing complex financial models and leading budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis; strong Excel skills; experience with financial planning and analysis software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC) is preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of business operations and financial principles, with the ability to link financial performance to business outcomes.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
