Position Summary:

  • The Family Service Coordinator provides coordination to children and their foster families in order to facilitate safety, permanency and well-being.

Location:

  • Lawrence & Olathe,KS

Education:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an area licensable by the Kansas BSRB

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience with children and family services required

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid drivers license
  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • At least 21 years old
  • Licensure by the Kansas BSRB is required

Essential Duties:

  • Required extensive driving with personal vehicle, reimbursed for mileage, and compliant with insurance and driver's license requirements.
  • Participate in recruitment, MAPP training, licensing, ongoing support, and re-licensing of family foster homes.
  • Provide ongoing support and crisis response to family foster homes, including required home visits.
  • Attend scheduled meetings, case plan conferences, court hearings, and school meetings for children in foster care.
  • Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on assigned on-call rotation.
  • Meet performance expectations, contract requirements, and regulatory timelines.
  • Assess client and foster family needs, offering direct support and referrals to community resources.
  • Complete paperwork in accordance with agency policies and timelines.
  • Acquire and develop resources to meet client and staff needs.
  • Provide positive reinforcement to clients and culturally sensitive services.
  • Supervise Social Work Interns and provide field instruction as needed.
  • Monitor children for signs of abuse or neglect and report incidents as required.
  • Provide transportation for clients when appropriate.
  • Participate in developing new services and meet therapy hour requirements set by supervisor.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions.
