Job DescriptionJob Description

Location and Reporting:

This is a hybrid role reporting to AAF's Wall Street office and will be required to be in the office at least 2 days a week. Special events or convenings may require this person to work in the office more than 2 days a week or on weeknights/weekends.

About Us:

Founded in 1989, the Asian American Federation (AAF) is one of the strongest leadership voices advocating for better policies, services, and funding that lead to more justice and opportunity for Asian immigrants, one of New York City's poorest and underserved communities. As an umbrella leadership organization, we represent 70 community-based organizations serving 1.5 million Asian New Yorkers, the fastest-growing population in the city.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, the Program Coordinator for Nonprofit Support will be responsible for implementing AAF’s technical assistance programs. This person will develop and execute nonprofit support programming to build organizational capacity among AAF’s member and partner organizations as they meet the needs of the pan-Asian community in New York City.

The Program Coordinator should be highly motivated and a self-starter with experience in program coordination.

What You’ll Do:

As the Program Coordinator, responsibilities may include the following as well as other special projects and responsibilities as assigned:

Program Support

  • Implementing programs and initiatives aimed at increasing the organizational capacity of AAF’s member and partner organizations
  • Coordinating and implementing workshops, trainings, and other events, such as creating event graphics, setting up online registrations, and leading back-end Zoom support or in-person event set-ups
  • Assist with the preparation of funders’ reports on the progress and impact of AAF’s programming
  • Identify and coordinate resources, both internal and external, to support community programs and initiatives

Data Management & Analysis

  • Support program evaluations by creating metric tools like polls, surveys, etc., and assessing data to inform program implementation
  • Collect, track, and maintain program data throughout the duration of each program

Relationship Management

  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, including but not limited to community-based organizations, government officials, training partners, facilitators, etc.
  • Collaborate with other AAF teams to ensure successful execution of programming
  • Represent AAF at external meetings and trainings and facilitate, as needed

Why Work with Us:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, nonprofit management, community development) or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in program coordination, community engagement, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, and Zoom
  • All new hires must be vaccinated and must stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines unless they have been granted a reasonable accommodation for religion or disability. If you are offered a position with AAF, this requirement must be met by your date of hire, unless a reasonable accommodation for exemption is received and approved by AAF.

Fluency in an Asian language is preferred (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tagalog).

Compensation: Salary range is from $59,000 to $63,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package includes generous paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a 403(b) plan.

The Asian American Federation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
