Inventory Control Manager

FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains the inventory control system
  • Provides inventory Management Reports
  • Primary goals are to provide customer satisfaction by assuring a high level of parts availability

 
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
 

  • Maintain parts inventory accuracy.
  • Achieve and maintain maximum availability with minimum dollar investment
  • Post all receipts and sales daily
  • Post all secondary information daily (i.e. part number changes, price changes, lost sales, shortages, bin and location changes, etc.
  • Generate management reports as requested such as back-orders, emergency and special order status, parts aging, obsolescence, etc.
  • Inform management of existing or potential inventory problems regarding stock outs, too high or too low guide figures, obsolescence, NPN'S, backorders, and other delays etc.
  • Control warranty parts return program.  Ensure that all parts are received by proper date
  • Upgrade back-order parts daily
  • Track and control all aspects of shipping and receiving.
  • Directly oversee that all parts requested for returns are done by Toyota guidelines and dealership policies, and are received by specified date of return requested.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the parts department by assisting in all aspects of housekeeping.
  • Prepare for inventory by use of perpetual inventories.
  • Directly control all functions of damaged, miss-packed, or 30 day returns in full. Charge to proper accounts.

 
 
ACCOUNTABILITY
 
Performance standards for this position are met when:
 

  • Dollar value of inventory control system and physical inventory are within 1.5 month’s supply at all times, by controlling obsolescence return policies.
  • True turnover is 6 or more times per year
  • Shortages and incorrect bin locations occur no more than 20 times each month.
  • Management reports are accurate and on time.
  • Ensure inventory stays below 11 months no sale
  • Perform perpetual inventories daily
  • Handle all inventory adjustments before the completion of the day
  • All returns must be completed by allowed time given.
  • Ensure a smooth inventory by means described in above duties.
