Ophthalmologist (Part-time)

Compensation: $130 to $150 per hour

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90057

Nexus HR is looking for an experienced, Ophthalmologist to work at least one (1) day per week for a reputable clinic in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is licensed in California, the ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus

About the Job

The Ophthalmologist is responsible for repairing traumatic eye injuries, and prescribing medications. Diagnose and identify eye diseases, and ailments, and provide treatment plans accordingly. Performs tests, prescribes corrective lenses, performs eye surgeries, and treats eye diseases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine eye examination

  • Identify and diagnose eye-related problems such as nearsightedness and color blindness, and others.

  • Recommend medications, surgeries, and/or corrective lenses if necessary.

  • Perform eye surgeries as necessary.

  • Assess eye defects and diseases and identify the relationship to other possible diseases such as diabetes and liver failure.

  • Educate the patient and significant parties regarding eye care and prevention of eye diseases.

  • Updates and maintains patient medical records.

  • Relay necessary medical records to other medical health professionals to promote a holistic approach to treatment.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Ophthalmology practice

  • A medical degree in Ophthalmology

  • Licensed to practice in California

  • Willingness for preceptorship to PA/FNP students is highly preferred.

  • Active participation in continued medical education and membership to a professional organization is highly preferred

  • Able to work in Los Angeles, CA

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred
