Position Overview

Role Objective

Conduct comprehensive vision assessments and interpret findings. Identify visual impairments, including myopia and hyperopia, along with ocular diseases. Advocate for ocular wellness by advising patients on contact lens maintenance and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outpatient services for individuals with visual disorders and concerns.
  • Administer standard eye assessments, including peripheral vision evaluations.
  • Assess each patient's visual clarity, visual field, and coordination.
  • Compile thorough medical histories for all patients, noting current and previous medications.
  • Investigate ocular symptoms, including discharge, redness, and irritation.
  • Prescribe corrective eyewear as necessary.
  • Refer patients to certified ophthalmologists for comprehensive eye care when needed.
  • Instruct patients on effective eye care practices.
  • Recognize environmental factors that may affect vision, such as exposure to chemicals or prolonged screen time.
  • Guide patients on maintaining proper eye hygiene and care.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state license for optometry and O.D. with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 6 years of experience as an optometrist.
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational abilities.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Capability to diagnose and manage eye-related issues.
