You will advocate for hunger relief, foster connections with supporters to advance our mission, and become a champion of change for the thousands of NH residents who struggle with food insecurity. Responsibilities
· Embrace and embody Catholic Charities NH’s (CCNH) C.H.O.I.C.E.S. values.
· Accept responsibility for understanding the corporate structure, mission and faith beliefs of CCNH and be able to represent and support the NH Food Bank’s (NHFB) position as it relates to the corporate structure to donors, stakeholders, employees and the general public.
· Develop and maintain a mutually positive, productive, collaborative and trusting relationship with CCNH’s leadership and staff.
· Establish program objectives, evaluate program performance and develop organizational structures consistent with policies and directives established by CCNH, the Board of Trustees and Feeding America (FA).
· Ensure that the NHFB is compliant with the FA contract provisions. Participate in FA calls, regional and national conferences and inspections.
· In conjunction with CCNH and other thought leaders/organizations around the State focused on hunger and/or food insecurity abatement solutions, provide leadership in the planning and implementation of the strategic direction of the NHFB with an eye toward continuous quality improvement.
· Provide direction, supervision, performance evaluation and support to the senior management staff and assist with ongoing staff/team development.
· Oversee the fiscal activities of the NHFB including budgeting, reporting and the annual audit.
· In conjunction with the NHFB Director of Development and the Director of Operations, develop and implement plans for fundraising and procurement of major gifts and food donations for the organization.
· Manage a donor portfolio and maintain regular contact with donors
· Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with all potential sources of funding, including individuals, foundations, corporations and government entities.
· Advocate for state and federal legislation that supports hunger relief.
· Provide leadership and community building to support the network of member agencies and their efforts to end hunger by strengthening the network of member agencies and other community stakeholders. Build relationships with local, state and federal officials by coordinating with them on public policy issues related to hunger and poverty abatement and advocate constructive policy changes to benefit those in need. Keep the Food Bank’s constituencies informed about relevant public policy issues.
· Serve as the Food Bank’s chief public spokesperson in articulating NH’s hunger problem and the Food Bank’s mission by representing the Food Bank to the public, including regularly speaking to business, civic, religious, government, school and other public groups.
· Participate in and support the Food Bank’s Advisory Committee and various CCNH Board committees to enhance the organization’s ability to carry out its mission. Support the ongoing stewardship, recruitment, orientation and training of Advisory Committee members.
· Collaborate and/or partner with other area non-profits and government agencies that have the same end goal of ending hungers in NH even if they appear to be adversarial.
· Ensure that the Food Bank is a leader and collaborates among other food banks in the Northeast as well as the national level.
Requirements:· Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human services or other related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· Minimum of eight years’ experience in food banking, non-profit management or business management.
· Experience working with a Board or Advisory Committee.
· Documented success in leading fundraising activities in the not-for-profit sector.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience in a complex organization.
· Valid driver’s license.
