As an application engineer, you must be detail-oriented and highly communicative to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in the overall success of our organization by designing, planning, organizing, managing, and monitoring project functions. You will be responsible for executing detailed designs for automation systems and assisting project managers overseeing various projects, processes, budgets, and timelines and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion. The application engineer role is crucial to a company’s success because they are responsible for assisting project managers, and technicians with application and product selection support. You will also use your technical expertise to advise internal and external customers. This position requires you to closely interact with project managers, salespeople, programmers, and assigned project staff to assist with the timely completion of each project. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. Ultimately, the application engineer’s duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

oResponsible for building automation system design for new construction and retrofit projects

oInterpret design drawings and specifications

oSubmittal development and preparation consisting of control wiring diagrams, airflow diagrams, piping systems diagrams, BAS equipment selection, floor plan generation, sequence of operation, valve schedules, and damper schedules

oComplete or review BAS submittals, as-builts, bid documents, and mechanical drawings as requested

oPrepare material requisition lists for project managers

oProvide application engineering support, product research, and technical documentation to field technicians, project managers, and installation contractor as needed

oIntegration of multiple vendor systems to the building automation system

oEngineer multiple projects

oMeet with contractors and consulting engineers regarding project design and submittal approval

oAttend job meetings, as required, to fulfill contract requirements

oAssist with customer and associate training

oOffer support to project managers on projects between $20K and $5M

oAssisting with managing the clients’ expectations and communicating needs to the project team

oEnsuring harmonious working relationships with our key partners

oIdentifying and communicating risks and roadblocks to the successful completion of the project and work with management to resolve

oEnsuring quality of the end solution through implementation of our standard project and development processes

oMust be customer service oriented and be able understand & manage numerous client/customer relationships

oCommunicates effectively with other team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues, and information needs

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

4-Year degree in mechanical engineering or construction management


Or 2-Year technical degree with work experience in HVAC 2+ Years



Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:


Understanding of layout, design, fabrication, and installation of HVAC systems

Microsoft Products

OSHA 10 Certified

Valid driver’s license and in good standing

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and balance several projects at a time
