This role combines elements of both a Sales Manager and a Business Development Manager, leveraging skills in both areas to drive business growth and maintain strong client relationships.
Job Summary:
The Industrial Automation Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating a robust pipeline of potential business opportunities. This role involves crafting preliminary cost proposals and labor estimates to support the sales process. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining and strengthening client relationships to convert potential business into confirmed projects and secure repeat engagements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the industrial automation sector.
- Build and maintain a solid pipeline of potential clients and projects.
- Develop cost proposals and labor estimates to assist in the sales process.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine and finalize proposals.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and senior leadership, to align project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the industrial automation industry.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote our solutions and capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to clients.
- Monitor and report on sales metrics and progress toward business development goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and business development within the industrial automation sector.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
- Experience in developing cost proposals and labor estimates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% - 80% including domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in industrial automation.
